about

'Triton's Dawn' combines Greek mythology with modern conservation concerns. The lyrics discuss how the God of the sea's son feels anger at what humanity has done to water environments across the planet and rises once more to right our wrongs. The original latin name for the freshwater alpine newt (pictured on the artwork) is 'Triton alpestris'. 'Triton' happens to be the name for the son of the Greek God of water 'Poseidon'.

lyrics

A window in the dark
Neptune’s reminder
A faded temple lost
You used to be the one who glowed

Imprisoned in the past
locked in a story
Now that the water cries
Yeah, you will hide your wrath no more

One of us
One of us

One of us
Take a chance
Breathe the life
bring him back

One of us
Take a chance
See him rise

Now that the water wakes
We’ll learn our place
As we remind ourselves
We’re not the only life on earth
